The best of all worldsĪs you can tell, Microsoft is no longer just on Windows as it was in olden times. ![]() #What windows does the google chrome laptop use installThere are also ways to install Windows in a virtual machine, yet it isn't exactly for novice users and doesn't always work on Chromebooks. You can try out Parallels Desktop for Chromebook Enterprise, though you'll have to have a higher-end system. As for running Windows natively on your Chromebook, there are options. You'll then be able to enjoy Windows remotely. #What windows does the google chrome laptop use downloadJust install the Chrome Remote Desktop extension in Chrome on a PC, download the required program and head back to Chrome Remote Desktop. Our previous guide looked at this in detail. #What windows does the google chrome laptop use PcYou'll need an actual Windows PC for this to work, but if you have one, you can end up running Windows through the web. While so far we've focused on how you can run Microsoft apps and services on a Chromebook, we also have some advice for how you can run Windows on the system, too. Our last tip is one that jumps through some hoops a bit. Our guide covered this in-depth, but the PWA version of Teams looks and feels more like what you'd expect from a Windows desktop app. That version of the app is great, but to get the true "Microsoft Book" experience, you'll want to create a PWA version of Teams. #What windows does the google chrome laptop use androidNaturally, if you use Teams for work or school, you might head to the Google Play Store and download the Android version of Teams on your Chromebook. It'll be your one-stop-shop for Microsoft on your Chromebook. Using is even simpler, as it links out to all these Microsoft Office apps you might want or need. Just create progressive web app versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint. ![]() Though Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, are the default on Chromebooks, you can still manually use Microsoft's own apps, too. Third up is a tip involving apps you might use for work or school on a Chromebook. If you want to save files to your OneDrive, you'll need to open the Android app manually and upload it into a folder from there. Do note, though, that OneDrive is read-only, so you can't write files to the storage via the Files app. From here, you can browse your OneDrive files, open pictures, and save them to your Chromebook. Look in the sidebar, and you'll see a new "OneDrive" section. You should then open up the Files app on your Chromebook. Allow the OneDrive app to sync, and then close it and open it again. From there, sign in with your Microsoft Account in the app. Just confirm your Chromebook supports the Google Play Store, and then download the Android version of OneDrive. While Google prefers you use Google Drive on a Chromebook, you also can use OneDrive, too. On the flip-side, some of the better Windows laptops include the likes of the Dell XPS 13 and new Huawei Matebook X Pro.Next up is a tip involving Cloud storage. There are, after all, some beautifully designed Chromebooks out there - like the Google Pixelbook. If, however, you generally stick with Google apps and services and are perfectly happy with being limited to sometimes lower-powered apps, then a Chromebook may be a good choice. If you're looking for a full-powered computer that can run a massive range of apps and programs, then Windows is probably still the better choice. So what's better for you? Well, it depends. #What windows does the google chrome laptop use softwareWhile the operating system did get a huge software boost with the addition of Android apps, the fact is that app support on Chrome OS is still a work in progress. That's not necessarily true of Chrome OS. If there's a program you want to run on your laptop, chances are that it's available for Windows. Of course, Chromebooks are particularly good at plugging in with Google's ecosystem of products, so if you're an Android user and regularly use the likes of Gmail, Google Drive, Chrome, and so on, then Chromebooks may perfectly serve your needs. Not only that, but there are versions of Microsoft's Office suite available for Chromebooks, as well as lightweight versions of Photoshop, and more. In fact, now is better than any other time to buy a Chromebook considering that fact that Chromebooks now support a range of Android apps - so many of the apps and games you enjoy on your phone can also be accessed on a Chromebook. That's not to say there isn't a wide range of software available for Chromebooks. ![]()
